Behind the Movie Iddarammayilatho: Stylish Star Allu Arjun and versatile Puri Jagannath joined with Bandla Ganesh made this film a high budgeted one. DSP’s music already rocking and gorgeous Amala Paul, Katherine Teresa served the glam quotient. Let us see, how far Puri showed his mark?

In the Movie Iddarammayilatho: Story begins with introduction to 1 Lakh Crore Mining Scam where in Union Minister (Rao Ramesh) answers to media. His pampered daughter Akanksha (Katherine) heads to Spain on Academic purpose studying Psychology. In the beautiful room where she landed, Akanksha finds the diary of past tenant Komali (Amala Paul). The diary chronicles in detail on Komali’s romantic affair with Sanju Reddy (Allu Arjun), running a Music band. How the traditional Brahmin girl Komali falls for modern stylish guy Sanju Reddy is the later portion.

All of the sudden, Diary ends up abruptly with no further details on marriage of Sanju and Komali. In the process of studying Sanju practically, Akanksha too gets connected with him emotionally. But, what happened later on? How did International Mafia Don Shawar, Union Minister affect the lives of Sanju and Komali? When did Akanksha realize the actual plot of Sanju? All these form the rest.

Values of the Movie Iddarammayilatho: Like every film of Puri, even this one relies more on engaging screenplay. Unfortunately, strong dialogue punches and magic around Puri’s brand misses here. Subject wise, this is an age old revenge drama mixed with romance, action. But, Puri starts his execution from a new end with new backdrop of Spain to keep our attention intact. Amol Rathod well supplemented Puri’s efforts to offer a visual treat. Sekkhar’s editing is sleek yet failed to sustain the flavor. Devi Sri Prasad’s energetic tunes and Bunny’s dances are always a bigger advantage. This time, stunt master Ketcha too added as bonus for the team. Production values of Bandla Ganesh Babu and Parameswara Arts are praiseworthy.

Performance wise, Allu Arjun looks dashing dressed to the teeth. He traverses so smoothly in romantic episodes with Amala Paul while chemistry with Katherine looked artificial and lifeless. In action episodes, Bunny worked really hard. Amala Paul is suited well into the role of cute Brahmin Girl with a Fidel. Katherine is red hot and will go for a total kill of young hearts. She was liberal even to skin show. Acting wise, she is an underperformer with no perfection in basics. Voice dubbed for her was so loud and annoying. Brahmanandam as Fidel Brahma failed to generate any laughs. Ali as Psycho Gudiwada Krishna is one of the worst comedy tracks written by Puri. Then come Shawar, Subba Raju, Nasser, Pragathi, Thulasi and Tanikella in brief roles.

Out of the Movie Iddarammayilatho: Unlike the regular Puri movies where heroes ooze with extra energy and arrogant attitude, this is not so. Even on writing part, Puri showed his sparks here and there with lot of inconsistency. Basic flaw lies not in selection of story or his format of screenplay but it is the predictability in narration tested the patience. Episodes between Bunny, Amal Paul and Brahmi should have to be on top for ripening the fun. Unluckily, Brahmi was miserable. Then Interval bang was mind blowing with whole lot of credits to Ketcha.

Coming to second half, pace falls down tremendously and Puri searched for gap filling scenes roping in Ali which was also misfired. Into the final twist on why Bunny is on revenge spree, I am exhausted. Truly speaking, nothing works well in second half inclusive of Cinematography dropping down in standards. CG was also terribly bad for climax. So, overall this is just a below average show from Puri and Bunny which isn’t expected. Except first half, there is nothing to mention positive here.

Commercially, Iddarammayilatho will open grandly due to empty ground at Tollywood BO. As summer is soon coming to an end, overall result will depend more on upcoming small and medium budgeted releases planned in next two weeks.
