Court - State Vs. A Nobody: Story Review

Court: State vs A Nobody highlights the fight of a defense lawyer against the judicial system that is prejudiced and corrupted with his hard-hitting arguments.

When all the doors seem to have been closed for a POSCO victim, Surya Teja( Priyadarshi) assistant, who has been desperately trying for his first case from his boss and renowned lawyer Mohan Rao( Sai Kumar), takes a daring decision.

Where this leads to and how the arguments unfold in the courtroom and what will be the final judgment, and how it affects the lives  of teenagers Chandu (Harsh Roshan), Jabili (Harsh Roshan), Lawyer (Harshavardhan),Mangapati (Sivaji), Seetaratnam (Rohini), Mutyalayya (Subhalekha Sudhakar), Watchman (Rajasekhar Aningi ) form the rest of the developments.

Court - State Vs. A Nobody: Artists Review

Priyadarshi slipped into the role effortlessly. He played the role of the young lawyer who waits patiently to take up the first case and he showed good mannerisms, body language, expressions and emotions when faced with various challenges and while dealing with them. He delivered dialogues with ease and in a natural, realistic way.

Harshavardhan came up with good expressions and mannerisms while snubbing the young lawyer and leading the investigation and the court proceedings as per his wishes. Sai Kumar made his presence felt as a senior advocate who motivates and inspires when the need arises.

Sivaji played an important role and he is good as a headstrong person who goes to any extent for his family's honor and prestige and do anything dictating his own terms. He takes everyone by surprise with his makeover and body language. Subhalekha Sudhakar and Rohini played their part accordingly as the grand father and mother of the girl and Rajasekhar Aningi and Surabhi Prabhavati did justice as the parents of the boy.

Harsh Roshan and Sridevi Apalla played the exuberant and innocent youngsters quite well. Others performed according to their roles.

Court - State Vs. A Nobody: Technicians Review

Court: State vs A Nobody story is penned by Ram Jagadeesh. He is making his debut with this film for which screenplay is provided by Ram Jagadeesh, Karthikeya Sreenivass, Vamsidhar Sirigiri. Ram Jagadeesh took a daring step to come out something new as a debutante rather than opt for the youthful entertainer.

Many court room dramas came on screen and some of them that include Hollywood films Angry Man, 12 and Malayalam films Jana Gana Mana, and Tamil film Jai Bhim. In Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan did Pink and Pawan Kalyan showed his power as Vakeel Saab in Tollywood. But all those had stars and Court did not have any.

However director Ram Jagadeesh on debut selected a relatable topic highlighting how the lives of youngsters get impacted due to the misuse of sections in the police station and court room. He decided to highlight the consequences of POCSO Act. He starts the narration with the court proceedings before going into the flashback. Though the narration starts in an interesting manner, the flashback episodes featuring the blossoming of romance between the teenagers impacted the pace and screenplay. All those scenes turned predictable including Priyadarshi's struggle to find his first case. The proceedings make viewers wait for something interesting to happen in a patient manner before the first half ends with a predictable twist. Though the story had 2013 backdrop, he managed to connect chords with the movie lovers with the relatable content.

The second half picks up pace with the screenplay turning racy to some extent with the court proceedings and arguments, counter arguments taking centre stage. But at times, one gets a feeling that the actors went over the board with their dialogues. Especially Sivaji's dialogues and mannerisms makes a powerful impact.

Dialogues are thought provoking and though the makers spoke about POCSO act, it was mentioned here and there and not completely dealt with. The pre climax and the climax makes an impact to touch the emotional chords of all though at times assumes predictable flavor with Priyadarshi delivering dialogues with subtle messages to the society

Karthika Srinivas editing is good could have been lot better. There are some scenes that slowed the pace of the narration in the first half that could have been easily done away. In the second half, the editing is ok though few scenes are repeated impacting the narration. Cinematography of Dinesh Purushottaman is good. He showed the village atmosphere quite well and carried the intensity in scenes with his camera angles. Vijay Bulganin's music is ok. The couple of songs are situational and highlighted the emotions quite well. His background score added value helping the narration sail off in a smooth and sedate manner.

Dialogues are ok and at times are impactful. The production values of Wall Poster Cinema is good.
