Behind the Movie Arravind 2: Director Shekkhar Suri is popularised for thriller genre in Tollywood with 'A Film by Aravind.' Now, a sequel arrives to the same with big supporting starcast of 'Ee Rojullo' Sree, Madhavi Latha, Avasarala Srinivas, Adonika, Kamal Kamaraju etc. Let us see, how far Shekkhar succeeded with the sequel?

In the Movie Arravind 2: Story begins in Dandeli forest of Karnataka where a row of killings occur and police arrest Aravind (Sree) suspecting as criminal. The gang which goes missing and killed in forest is none other than that of Aravind's friends inclusive of his girl-friend Priya (Madhavi Latha). Released on bail, Aravind joins a movie production house which goes out for a shoot into the same jungle with hero Rishi (Kamal Kamaraju), heroine Tanishka (Adonika), director (Avasarala Srinivas), producer (Anchor Vijay) and few more.

Once again, its the same as a psycho killer in mask goes on a spree of massacres cleaning the entire production team. Who is this masked killer? What is his flashback? What's his soft-corner towards Priya? How many in the production crew saved their lives? All these form the rest.

Values & Out of the Movie Arravind 2: Director Shekkhar Suri's urge to offer new kind of thriller films to Telugu audience is obviously felt. The physical stress and risks taken by cast and crew can be easily sensed. While screenplay was not so effective, it is still the treatment and execution which kept patrons engaged. Especially in this kind of stories, when suspense element is opened once for all just before interval bang, it becomes really hard for a director to keep up the excitement levels. But, Shekkhar well supported with cameraman Rajendra Babu were able to comeout with few really spine-chilling episodes. Vijay Kurakula's music was although boisterous but lifted the thrilling spirit. Editing by Bhimreddy Tirupathi Reddy was a boo-boo which killed the very flavor of film. Lengthy and repeated shots with unedited chases are sure to test our patience. Same do applies for pathetic writing from Surendra Krishna. On the other front, production values of Ravi and Sri Vijayabheri Productions are just okay.

Performance wise, Avasarala Srinivas, Madhavi Latha and Adonika stole the show while Sree and Kamal Kamaraju were completely hollow and clueless. Thankfully, Shekkhar saves us by covering the face of killer with a mask and never revealed the actual identity. Of the rest, Benarjee, Surya were okay.

The basic flaws in Shekkar's 'Arravind 2' are the mis-casting, screenplay loopholes and logicless emotional quotient used in designing the main killer character. Infact, thriller movies should offer continuous goosebumps to audience with gripping narration and there is no constraint to manitain a conventional run time of 2+ hours. Shekkhar spoiled the viewing experience with lengthy and slow paced narration. Episodes like hit and run of a car (opening shot), killings of Kamal Kamaraju and second heroine are excellently handled. A miserable climax adds to the unending sorrows of public. Intoto, second half is a better show than first with exhaustive and energy draining experience guaranteed. Like the first part (Sherlyn Chopra), ample skin show of Adonika might water the frotnbenchers.

Finally, 'Arravind 2' is no where near to 'A Film by Aravind' with Shekkhar Suri disappointing and damaging his own brand quality.
