Behind the Movie Aarambham: After watching movies like Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige and The Dark Night; there is no way that a true movie lover who can appreciate creative and novel ideas from Christopher Nolan can miss ‘Inception’ which has been dubbed into Telugu as ‘Aarambham.’ With Leonardo DeCaprio of ‘Titanic’ fame in the lead, movie has grabbed enormous attention alround the world. Though it was a bit late, iam proud to  wacth this movie and share my feelings on a nerve breaking and brain teasing Psychic Thriller.

In the Movie Aarambham: Before I start telling you about the movie, here is one thing  that needs to be clarified. There might be infinite number of views, a viewer can interpret from each scene in this movie and the ones Iam writing here are only those which played havoc with my tiny brain.

Story begins with Cobb (Leonardo Dicaprio), a Master of ‘Inception’ (An art of entering into humans dreams, make a living in them, influence the happenings and ideas with in the dream. Even this includes forcibly planting an idea into a dreamers subconscious mind and thus affecting him/her in real time) is hired by business magnet Saito (Ken Watanbe) to influence the ideas of his rival target Robert Fischer (Cillian Murphy), son of Maurice Fischer and find out secret code of the locker where a confidential file related to transfer of property is hidden.

Cobb agrees for this last ‘Inception’ task to lead a peaceful life with his children. His teammates, Eames (Tom Hardy), a forgery specialist who can identify the shifts in dreams (that is to dream in a dream); Yusuf (Dileep Rao), a chemist who develops sedatives for dreamers; Ariadne (Ellen Page), an Architect student who designs dreams; now get onto their target Robert Fischer by catching him in a flight.

Task is to be completed in three layers of dreams. First layer is to enter the dream of Robert Fischer and try to get the code as it is; if not possible then plunge into the second layer where Fischers relation with his father is to be investigated; last and third one into an Ice Regioon where they need to fight against opponents who have hidden his father. Fortunately there will even be a fourth layer which will deal with Cobb’s deceased wife Mal (Marion) who obstructs his target.

All the participants or dreamers in the flight sleep in close proximity and will be  connected by a device that administers a sedative and share the dream world consisting of their mental projections.

How did this team complete the three stages of ‘Inception’ and accomplish the task, how did they come back to real life after these many dreamy layers form rest of the story.

Values and Out of the Movie Aarambham:

Here are few sweet tit bits about Dreams as said by Nolan, which few of us may recognize with in our dreams:

1.   Dreaming is a normal phenomena in human beings that happens in our sub conscious mind when we sleep but the rate at which our mind works in a dream is many a times faster than when we are awake.
2.   Whatever the incidents or happenings we dream can’t be fully remembered when we wake up. This is due to the pace of dream and the recaptivity of our vision.
3.   Deeper is your dream, faster will be the speed of your subconscious mind. (Example: A minute in your real life will be 10 to 14 hours of your life in first dream layer and few months in second dream layer and few years in third dream layer and it goes on)
4.   We normally wake up from our dream suddenly when we come across a ‘Kick.’ (Kick is termed by Nolan as a jerk or free fall due to gravity which can easily disturb a dream)
5.   A person who is killed in his/her self dream will remain in that intricate depths of layers with out coming into the real life and this stage is termed as ‘Limbo.’

Many more can be recollected when we watch this movie again and again.

Taking a subject on dream itself is a challenge and subloops (as what we call in Software Coding) in our dreams is what it makes ‘Inception’ a brain teasing ‘Shakuntala Devi’ Puzzle tough to crack. Scripting for this kind of movies will be a task which normal human beings can’t dare to. Nolan is known to have worked for ten years on this script. With a simple and straight story line (No confusions), Nolan has made out a elephant size scripting.

No doubt that patrons in the theatre will have to keep their minds sharp and watch the movie as if you are enjoying a lecture on Psychology mixed with Science and Mathematics. Artists in the movie really worked as per the demand of each layer and so intense was the narration that we end up becoming a part of their dreams.

It was a sheer surprise that frontbenchers whom I thought will not be able to connect with the story were dropping down their jaws coming out of the theatre questioning themsleves, ‘In which dream layer are we presently in?’ For all those, who really can’t match the pace of English in Hollywood movies, better have a chance with ‘Aarambham’ and Iam lucky to have prefrred the Telugu version.

One single comment atlast, though few of our directors might have tried a bit of meta physics and psychology connected stories in their past movies but a genuine and flawless attempt will always be invited. Frontbenchers coming out of the theatres with a cheering face has opened my eyes, once again proving that ‘Audience are more cleverer than Filmmakers.’

Cinejosh Verdict of the Movie Aarambham:
Live in the dreams of Nolan’s reality. A flawless movie that comes once in a life time. Don’t miss it.
