ETV Win is known for feel good entertainers and Sr Naresh's film Veeranjaneyulu Vihara Yatra directed by Anurag Palutla is appealing to all. The film is set for streaming on 14 Aug 2024. Let us see how Naresh entertained in the film.
Veeranjaneyulu Vihara Yatra story is all about a middle aged person and his trials and tribulations and how he overcomes them. Nageshwar (Sr Naresh), is a English teacher in a private school in Vizag and he has his own problems like every middle class family has like leading life with his wife (Lakshmi),mother Kantam (Sri Lakshmi), son Veeru (Rag Mayur) and daughter Saroo (Priya Vadlamani).
Their middle class life is surrounded by the complex web of problems and in order to come out of it, Nageshwar takes a shocking decision regarding his dad Veeranjaneyulu (Brahmanandam)'s property without consulting his family. Where this leads to and how it is connected to Saroo's would be Tharun (Raviteja Madhasayam) and Aishwarya (Priyadarshini) form the rest of the narration.
Sr Naresh performed well in the role of the middle class person who silently suffers the tantrums inside and outside his house. He showed good expressions and emotions and his body language is apt for the role. The role is tailormade for him and he was not required to comeout of his comfort zone.
Srilakshmi performed well in the role of Naresh's mother. She did her part accordingly. Lakshmi as the wife of Sr Naresh played her part complimenting him quite well. Priya Vadlamani showed variations in her role in a subtle manner in the role of daughter. Rag Mayur is good as the son while Raviteja Mahadhasyam is ok in the role of the would be husband. Priyadarshini is fine in her role. Others like Harshavardhan performed according to their roles.
Veeranjaneyulu Vihara Yatra directed by Anurag Palutla highlighted the trials and tribulations of the middle class family and how they struggle to make their both ends meet. The story is nothing new and is beaten to dust in many films, webseries and serials. However Anurag Palutla tried to give a hilarious touch.
But right from the start till the finish, the story had no entertaining scenes and is mostly driven by emotional scenes. The slow pace gave a serial like feel to the viewers as it tested their patience to no extent. The interval bang is predictable and the second half treads the same line.
There is nothing much to rave about the story and same is the case with the screenplay and direction. Viewers will be misled by the attractive title Veeranjaneyulu Vihara Yatra and the presence of Sr Naresh, Brahmanandam, Srilakshmi but Sr Naresh played an extremely serious role and so did Sri Lakshmi. Brahmanandam was confined to giving voice over to his role and he doesn't make any appearance.
There are many illogical scenes and even the emotional scenes are dragged to breakeven point leaving viewers banging their heads in despair. Anurag Palutla should have worked on the story and the script and included hilarious scenes to narrate the serious topic in a funny way. He however missed a golden opportunity.
RH.Vikram's music is just ok and BGM is average. Cinematography of Ankur C is ok. Naresh's Adupa's editing left a lot to be desired. He could have easily chopped more than 30 minutes of the film. Dialogues are ordinary. Production values are average.
Altogether, Veeranjaneyulu Vihara Yatra is an outdated middle class family drama. Anurag Palutla, despite having Sr Naresh, Srilakshmi, Lakshmi, Brahmanandam at his disposal, failed to utilise and highlight their acting talent in even an average manner to come up with a decent entertainer. The characters are not eked out properly and the predictability and artificiality turned out to be the main villains. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for Veeranjaneyulu Vihara Yatra.
