Artists, Technicians Review

Director Sridhar tried to attract youngsters and masses with a story that has not only romantic elements but also a father-son angle. He starts the narration in a youthful and entertaining manner elevating the hero's romantic and heroic elements. However, he fumbled with his screenplay on numerous occasions. In his quest to entertain the masses, he took his own time to enter into the real story. Most of the entire first half goes on hero teasing heroine and trying to win her love and in the second half, he tries to quicken the narration. The way he created the hero's character will appeal to the masses.

He included comedy elements to entertain viewers in the first half. However, after some time, it impacted the film's pace and tested the patience of the viewers. The emotional elements take the centre stage in the second half. Dialogues attract mass movie lovers.

Kiran Abbavaram in his second film performed his role quite well. He attracted masses with his antics and expressions. Most of the time carried the film on his shoulders. Priyanka Jhawalkar at times attracted with her looks but most of the time, she paled in comparison with her debut film Taxiwala. Even her role is inconsequential. Sai Kumar slipped into the role effortlessly. His role is rudderless most of the time, testing the patience of the viewers and only, in the end, his role is elevated and he came with a powerful performance. Actors who played the roles of Kiran's friends failed to set the ball rolling with their comedy.

Viswas Daniel attracted with his cinematography. He captured the natural scenes in a realistic manner and depicted the village atmosphere in a beautiful manner. Sridhar Gadhe handled the editing but he should have used his editing scissors even more to perfection. The background music of Chaitan Bharadwaj is good and elevated the scenes. He came with foot-tapping tunes to thrill the masses. Production values are good.

Rating Analysis

Kiran Abbavaram's SR Kalyanamandapam directed by Sridhar Gade tried to attract the masses. The makers targeted the B, C centers. Director Sridhar included many scenes and dialogues only to attract the masses. In his quest to attract the masses, he completely neglected the story which turned out to be routine. Though he came with good points here and there, he failed to highlight them in a powerful manner. Kiran Abbavaram is the saving grace for SR Kalyanamandapam. It established Kiran as a mass hero. Had Sridhar Gade finetuned the story and the script and turned the screenplay even more powerful, SR Kalyanamandapam's result would have been different. Considering all these points, CJ goes with a 2.75 rating for SR Kalyanamandapam.
