But Indraganti Mohana Krishna for all his talent, failed to weave a magic after Sammohanam. His last film Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali left without a trace. Sarangapani Jathakam revolves around a youngster who is a staunch believer of astrology and how his life gets impacted with his beliefs and how he deals with them to become successful.
Saranga aka Sarangapani (Priyadarshi), a staunch believer of astrology falls on love with a beautiful girl Mythili (Roopa Kodavayur). As he was about to get married, he gets to know about a startling prediction. Where this leads to and how it is connected to form rest of the developments.
Priyadarshi impressed with his performance. He carried the film on his shoulders with his comic timing and hilarious antics. He showed good expressions and emotions and his body language is good. However after a point of time, it turned out to be repetitive, monotonous and irritating.
Roopa Kodavayur looked good on the screen. But she got limited screen presence. She tried her best to make an impression to attract viewers.
Others like VK Naresh,Tanikella Bharani,Avasarala Srinivas,Vennela Kishore, Viva Harsha, Sivannarayana, Ashok Kumar, Raja Chembolu, Vadlamani Srinivas, Pradeep Rudra, Ramesh Reddy, Kalpalatha,, Roopa Lakshmi,, Harshini performed accordingly.
Sarangapani Jathakam story is readied by Indraganti Mohana Krishna. The story revolves around a simple point of protagonist's superstitions and Indraganti Mohana Krishna tried to generate humour around it.
To some extent, the comedy scenes works at the start though they are routine, thanks to Priyadarshi and Vennela Kishore. Some of the comedy scenes just looked like memes on social media.
For all these scenes, the first half turned out to be lengthy. When viewers expected a better second half, the screenplay and direction nose dived to new nadir. Right from the start till the end, the scenes lacked novelty but also missed all the logics.
After the lengthy first half, the second half turns out to be completely outdated. Indraganti Mohana Krishna failed with his story, screenplay and direction to the core.
Vivek Sagar's music failed to make an impression. None of the songs are appealing. The background score is ok but could have been better.
Cinematography of PG.Vinda is good and appealing. It added value to the final output. Marthand K Venkatesh's editing could have been far better. There are many scenes that hampered the film's pace. Production values are decent.
Altogether, Sarangapani Jathakam turned out to be a silly, illogical entrainer. Priyadarshi tried to carry the film on his shoulders with his performance but Indraganti Mohana Krishna's story, screenplay and direction failed completely much to the disappoint of all. A better writing and fine-tuning of the script and screenplay World have helped in changing the result of the film. People may watch the film on OTT but it is extremely difficult for them to come to theatres. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.25 rating for Sarangapani Jathakam.
