Sankranthiki Vasthunnam Telugu Movie: Story Review

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam revolves around the kidnapping of Indian CEO of worlds No 1 Tech company, Aakella (Srinivas Avasarala) during his india tour and the subsequent police operation to rescue him. The story takes a comedic turn when suspended police officer YD Raju (Venkatesh) is brought in to solve the case, accompanied by his wife Bhagyalakshmi (Aishwarya Rajesh) and their family. How YD Raju's exgirfriend get into the mix ? How did YD Raju managed the operation amidst clashes between his wife and ex girlfriend forms the rest of the story.

Victory Venkatesh's Sankranthiki Vasthunnam: Artists Review

Venkatesh, as expected, delivers a standout performance, and his comedic timing is impeccable. Whenever the film is down he pulls it off with his stand out performance making the film's comedy work. Aishwarya Rajesh, as the jealous and lovable wife, also performs well, and her chemistry with Venkatesh is convincing. Meenakshi Chaudhary, as the expected girlfriend, fits the bill, and her interactions with Venkatesh and Aishwarya Rajesh generate some laughs

The supporting cast, including Upendra Limaye and Saikumar, also deliver some memorable performances despite getting  loud  at times and their threads in the story add to the film's comedic moments. Others like, Naresh, VTV Ganesh, Srinivas Avasarala, Pammi Sai, Murali Goud and others did their parts and made their presence felt.

Anil Ravipudi's Sankranthiki Vasthunnam: Technicians Review

Anil Ravipudi's direction is geared towards creating a laugh-out-loud experience, and he largely succeeds in doing so. The film's first half is particularly enjoyable, with a good amount of humor and some catchy musical numbers. The comedy is largely driven by the interactions between the family members. One of the standout scenes in the film is when the son, Bulliraju, who is addicted to OTT content, uses foul language to abuse those quarreling with his father. The scene is expertly handled, and the comedy is both shocking and hilarious. Venkatesh's chemistry with his son is also adorable, and their interactions deliver some of the film's best laughs.

The second half of the film, while still comedic, gets repetitive and feels like a road movie. The main characters are being chased by police and goons, and the clash between the wife and girlfriend, which generated laughs initially, starts to fizzle out. However, Anil Ravipudi's expertise in handling comedy ensures that the film remains entertaining, even if it doesn't quite reach the same heights as the first half.

The music by Bheems is good, and all three songs come out well on screen. The background score is adequate, and the cinematography by Sameer Reddy is decent, capturing some scenic locations in the songs and the second half.

However, the editing by Tammiraju could have been better, especially in the second half, where the film's pace starts to flag. The production values are decent, but the film's overall quality could have been improved with some tighter editing and more attention to detail

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam: Positives

  • Venkatesh Comedy Timing
  • Anil Ravipudi Comedy Tinge
  • First Half and Songs

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam: Negatives

  • Second Half
  • Gets Repetitive After Sometime

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam (2024) Movie: Rating Analysis

Overall, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is a fun, entertaining film that delivers on its promise of laughs. While it may not be the most sophisticated or well-crafted film, it's a enjoyable watch, thanks to the strong performances of its cast and the comedic expertise of its director. With some tighter editing and more attention to detail, this film could have been even better. As it stands, it's still a worthwhile watch for fans of logic-less comedy. Considering all these, CineJosh goes with a rating of 2.75 for Sankranthiki Vasthunnam.
