Kiccha Sudeep, versatile actor from Sandalwood who created a niche for himself in Tollywood with his performance in Eega, is coming to entertain move lovers with the action entertainer Max. Let us see what Sudeep offered to move lovers with Max on the big screen.
Max revolves around a honest cop who faces many suspensions and things take a drastic turn when he gets posting in a remote police station. Max aka Inspector Arjun Mahakshay (Kiccha Sudeep) after two months long suspension finally gets a posting at a forlorn, and forgotten semi urban police station.
But things take a serious turn when he takes action on a small incident. Where this leads to and how politicians Gani aka Ganesh (Sunil), Minister Parashuram (Sharath Lohitaswa), Minister Daniel (Aadukaalam Naren), Veera (Sujith), and Michel (Anirudh Bhat), Crime Inspector Roopa (Varalakshmi Sarathkumar), Constable Arati (Sukrutha Wagle), Constable Meena (Samyukta Hornad) SI Das (Ugramm Manju) are connected form the interesting twist.
Sudeep looked stylish and macho and fit the role of the cop quite well. His body language and mannerisms are good and delivered dialogues with good impact coming up with good expressions and Emotions. He thrilled his fans with his dances and performed intense action sequences with ease.
Varalakshmi Sarathkumar made her presence felt in a role that is tailor made. She maintained the intensity with her looks and body language.
Sunil is good in the role of an antagonist. Samyuktha Hornad,Sukruta Wagle,Anirudh Bhat, Ilavarasu, Ugramm Manju, Aadukaalam Naren, Sharath Lohitaswa played their parts accordingly.
Others got limited roles and screen presence to show their talent but fans will not complain as they got to watch Sudeep all the time.
Max deity is penned by Vijay Karthikeyaa is an action packed drama. Being a debutant and having watched Kichha Sudeep from close angles, he decided to thrill all his fans by elevating his heroism to new heights.
Though the story is a predictable cop drama which is high on action, he kept the intensity levels intact with racy screenplay. He stuck to the point and didn't deviate from the story. His screenplay is linear and except for couple of twists, it sails of smoothly.
He introduces Sudeep in a stylish manner and from then on concentrated on showing his heroism in various ways with others playing the supporting fiddle. The story reminds one of Karthi's Khaithi but here instead of the criminal, it is left to the police to save the station.
The first half ends with the battle set between the cop and couple of villains. But the second half the screenplay goes for a toss as repetitive scenes creep in and monotonous elements takes centre stage.
To the top of it, even viewers get bored of seeing the same action sequences again and again bereft of any interesting twists and turns. Little fine tuning of the script and few twists and turns would have made it more impactful.
Ajaneesh Lokanath made an impact with his background score. He elevated the scenes with his background music. Shekhar Chandra with his cinematography captured the scenes in a natural way and used his expertise to add value to them on the screen. The editing of SR.Ganesh Baabu is ok but could have been better as there are few drags that slowed the tempo. Production values are good
Altogether, Max turns out to be in monotonous mass entertainer. Sudeep tried to be different to entertain masses in the mass action packed avatar. Director Vijay Karthikeyaa elevated Sudeep's heroism in the powerful police role and otherwise everything else turns routine. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2.75 rating for Max.
