Legendary singer SP.Balasubrahmanyam's son SPB.Charan is starring in a key role in LYF (Love Your Father). The film directed by Pavan Ketharaju is releasing on 4 April 2025. LYF (Love Your Father) OTT rights are yet to be finalised. The details will be revealed by the makers in the coming days once they are signed. Let us see what LYF offered to movie lovers.
LYF: Love Your Father story highlights the bonding between the father and son and how father becomes the guiding force behind the success of his son. Siddhu (Sri Harsha) is a B.Tech student and he is supported strongly by his father Kishore (SP.Charan) in spite of him committing mistakes in the name of enjoying life.
But their happy lives take a drastic turn with the entry of Mafia King Kabir (Nawab Shah). Where this leads to and how it is connected to Siddhu's love Sweety (Kashika Kapoor) form the interesting part of the narration.
Sri Harsha on debut did well in the role of a happy go lucky person. He showed good mannerisms and body language. Kashika Kapoor is ok in her role. SP.Charan came up with an impressive performance in the role of the father. The scenes featuring him and Sri Harsha came out well. Nawab Shah is good in the role of the antagonist.
Praveen, Raghu Babu, Shakalaka Shankar's comedy is just average. Chatrapthi Sekhar made his presence as Aghora. Others performed according to their roles.
LYF (Love Your Father) story is readied by Pavan Ketharaju and with this film he made his debut as the director. He tried to showcase the father son bonding on the screen and in the process added few thrilling and mythological elements to the revenge drama.
He came up with an interesting plot and tried to impress adding numerous elements like father son bonding, mythological, revenge and thrilling elements. He starts the narration in a natural way highlighting the father and son bonding but the pace dips once he touches the romantic elements in the college backdrop. The hilarious scenes there looked forced.
Once again interest increases just before the interval and this sets the stage for the second half. Few twists in the second half workout well before the film ends on an emotional note. The comedy and revenge elements are not in sync with the story and director seemed to have forced them for the sake of it.
Devarampati Ramakrishna with his editing could have trimmed many scenes to turn the screenplay racy. Cinematography of Shyam K Naidu is below average. He failed to beautify the film and give a rich feel. Mani Sharma's music is ok and songs are situational. He added value to the narration with his background music. Dialogues are ok. Production values are good.
Altogether, LYF (Love Your Father) though got an interesting plot, fades out to become a routine emotional entertainer. Director Pawan Ketharaju came up with a decent concept but failed to take it to the next level with intense screenplay and direction. A little fine-tuning of the script would have added value to the final output. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2.25 rating for LYF: Love Your Father.
