Artists, Technicians Review

Chanakya Chinna as a director planned to entertain movie lovers with a hilarious horror entertainer and at the same time send touch upon an important issue. Though the idea is good, he takes his own sweet time for the entire first half. The entire narration drags with silly scenes and routine elements and one gets a feeling that watching a TV serial is far better than the proceedings in the film. Routine elements played the spoilsport as all the so-called hilarious scenes failed to evoke laughter. In the runup to the interval, though the routine elements continued, director Chanakya managed to generate enough fun between Thrigun, Poojitha Ponnada, RJ Hemanth, and Getup Seenu with an interesting twist.

While many expected a better second half, it turned out to be routine as Chanakya Chinna ran out of ideas. The main story is in the second half but the monotonous elements and weak screenplay and direction tested the patience of the viewers. The film ended on predictable lines with no real twists and turns.

Thrigun as usual came with similar expressions and emotions. He passed through the motions. He tried his best to bring in variations but it worked out only to an extent. Poojitha Ponnada is ok in her role as a daring girl. She got singular expressions most of the time. RJ Hemanth performed well and he got more screen presence at times than the lead pair. He along with Getup Seenu entertained to some extent in a few scenes. Saptagiri is routine and Mahesh Manjrekar, Saptagiri, Syamala, and Vinod Kumar performed their roles accordingly.

Bheems Cecirelio's music is just average and the background score is adequate. YS. Krishna's cinematography is ok. He did justice with his camera angles. The editing of Pravin Pudi could have been better in both halves. Production values are ok.

Advantages

Few hilarious scenes

Disadvantages

Story, Screenplay, Direction

Editing

Routine elements

Rating Analysis

Thrigun teaming with Chanakya Chinna for Katha Kanchiki Manam Intiki planned to send a powerful message to society with a hilarious horror entertainer. But Chanakya ran out of ideas and the age-old story, weak script, story, and screenplay affected their plans. Except for a couple of hilarious scenes, nothing worked out for the film. Considering all these aspects, CJ goes with a 1.5 rating for Katha Kanchiki Manam Intiki.
