Prince Cecil and Naresh Agasthya are talented actors and they are coming together to entertain viewers with Kali. The film directed by Jeevan Babu hit the screens today and let us see how the film enthralled viewers.
Kali story is all about an honest person and how he reacts when he is faced with numerous problems and the consequences there after. Sivaram (Prince) lands in problems due to his honesty and he decides to take a drastic step. However things takes a sensational turn when a stranger (Naresh Agasthya) comes into his life. What is their connection and what changes it brings, form the interesting point.
Prince Cecil came up with a good performance. He showed good emotions and expressions, showcasing his pain, frustration, and helplessness due to the situation. Naresh Agasthya did well and both Prince Cecil and Naresh Agasthya added value to the scenes with their performances. While the conversation between them generate interest, the hilarious scenes turned out to be opposite. Priyadarshi and Mahesh Vitta's voice over comes as a surprise pack. Neha Krishnan,CVL.Narasihma Rao,Mani Chandana,Kedar Shankar,Madhumani,Gundu Sudarshan and others performed according to their roles.
Kali story readied by Siva Seshu has interesting plot. He tried to entertain viewers with the twists and turns. He starts the narration in an interesting way. referring to mythology, four yugas, dharmas etc. However he loses plot there after and ends up dragging the entire first half with silly and senseless scenes. The romantic track turns out to be a patient tester. While the second half starts interestingly and enters the climax and pre climax, but once again he chose to drag the climax instead of ending it at the right time.
The music of Jeevan Babu is below average while his background score passes the test. He could have done away with the songs which acted as speedbrakers. Vijay Vardhan Kavuri's editing disappoints. There are many scenes that could have been done away with. Nishant Katari,Ramana Jagarlamudi's cinematography is good. Production values are ok.
Altogether, Kali turns out to be lacklustre. Director Siva Sashu though drew inspiration from films like Samuthirakhani's BRO, he failed to recreate the magic. He got an interesting point and though the runtime is less,he tested the patience of all with his screenplay and direction. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for Kali.
