Jailer Movie: Artists Review

Rajinikanth becomes the soul of Jailer. He showed various emotions and expressions and carried the film forward. He uses his experience and took the film to another level carrying it on his shoulders. After the silent flow of emotions, he shows his violent outburst on the screen to thrill all his fans. His style and swag, mass mannerisms, and dialogues are a treat to watch for all his fans. He performs action sequences to entertain all.

Ramya Krishnan got the role of a typical housewife and she is ok in her role. So is the case with Mrinaa Menon who played Rajinikanth's daughter-in-law. Yogi Babu makes all laugh with his antics but he is confined only in the second half. Vinayakan played the antagonist role and he looked menacing on the screen. Vasanth Ravi played the role of Rajini's son and he is ok. Naga Babu and Sunil performed accordingly.

The film has powerful cameos in the form of Shiva Rajkumar, Mohan Lal, and Jackie Shroff. It will be a treat for viewers to watch them on the big screen.

Jailer Movie: Technicians Review

Jailer story readied by Nelson Dilip Kumar is about a cop who goes all out to save his family. Though the plot is predictable and many such films came earlier, Nelson Dilip Kumar added scenes to elevate the heroism of Rajinikanth and entertain all his fans and masses. The narration starts interestingly and the pace dips with the family scenes before the intro of Rajinikanth. He is seen as a family man who lives happily with his wife, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. The story picks up pace with the involvement of gangs and from this point, the story picks up pace.

Even as the interest increases with interesting action sequences and twists, the subtle comedy involving Rajinikanth and Yogi Babu entertains all. The first half ends on an intense interval bang setting the tone for the second half. The second half starts off on a promising note but quickly pace dips in between with the scenes involving Sunil and others. However, the pre-climax and climax pick up pace with high-octane action sequences and finally, the film ends on a sedate predictable note.

Anirudh Ravichander gave scintillating background music for the film. He elevated the scenes with his BGM making a thumping impact. Jailer theme and Hukum made a good impact and is shot well highlighting the heroism of Rajinikanth. Songs are situational and few are emotional. They did not make much impact. The special song Kaavaalaa featuring Tamannaah is ok but did not make the desired impact as hoped.

The cinematography of Vijay Karthik Kannan is stylish and gave a rich feel to the viewers on the screen. The film is shot in a lavish manner. Nirmal's editing is fine in the first half but he left many drags in the second half. The production values of Sun Pictures are grand.

Jailer Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether Jailer is a decent action entertainer. Nelson Dilip Kumar showed superstar Rajinikanth in the role of a subdued family man having the flashback of a violent cop. He included many scenes to elevate the heroism of Rajinikanth and this will delight all his fans. To make up for the predictable plot and story, he included subtle comedy in the form of Yogi Babu. This made the first half entertaining and interesting and the interval bang and the start of the second half excites all. But he loses pace from then on and gets confused on how to take the narration forward be it in a serious tone or in a hilarious way.

Thus the antagonist role after a serious intro turns out to be silly in between before assuming the serious avatar during the pre-climax. The second half comedy scenes featuring Sunil and others impacted the film in a negative way affecting the film's progress. The inclusion of top stars Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, and Mohan Lal excites all, and their powerful intro and their involvement in the pre-climax delights all. However, their cameos just come now and then and look forced. For all the highs and intense dialogues, Nelson Dilip Kumar lost the plot in the middle. He has taken many cinematic liberties to turn an interesting plot into just an average one.

Little fine-tuning of the script and screenplay and careful direction would have got better results. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2 Rating for Jailer.
