Story Review
The story is all about a youngster's struggles to make his girlfriend's wish fulfilled by getting the first-day first show tickets for Power Star Pawan Kalyan's film Kushi. Seenu (Srikanth Reddy) is a die-hard fan of Power Star Pawan Kalyan in Narayankhed, Warangal. He is attracted to a beautiful girl in his college Laya (Sanchita Basu) but he couldn't express his feelings to her. One fine day, he gets delighted when Laya comes to him and asks him to get the first day first show ticket for Pawan Kalyan's upcoming release Kushi. It all boils down to whether Seenu is able to realize his dream of watching the first-day first show of Pawan Kalyan's Kushi along with his girlfriend Jaya and how his father Dharma Rao (Tanikella Bharani) a teacher, Ravanna (Vennela Kishore), President of Pawan Kalyan's fans association are connected to the developments, from the line of First Day First Show.
Artists, Technicians Review
The story highlights how a youngster goes all out to make his girlfriend happy by getting her the tickets for the first day first show of Pawan Kalyan's Kushi. People got excited as KV. Anudeep of Jathi Ratnalu fame provided the story for the film. Vamshidhar Goud and Lakshminarayana Puttamchetty joined hands to direct the film. The idea is unique but running the entire film on getting the tickets for Pawan Kalyan's film is too difficult and farfetched. The story of First Day First Show when talked about excites all with everything revolving around Pawan Kalyan's film.
With Anudeep KV of Jathi Ratnalu fame providing the story, expectations soared. However much to the disappointment of all, the story turned out to be weak and the directors' duo failed to recreate the magic of Jathi Ratnalu. With the emotions failing to reach the rights and make an impact on the viewers, things fell apart. Everything ended up testing the patience of the viewers and after some time even the references to Pawan Kalyan looked forced. The screenplay and direction did not inspire any confidence and neither are the performances.
When Anudeep himself came up with the so-called story or what we call 'No Story', the direction whoever does it is bound to fail. Anudeep thought that by coming up with a simple story like Jathi Ratnalu, he created magic, and he must have grown in confidence that by singing praises of Pawan Kalyan and doing a film revolving around him will get him more fame, name and stardom. In the process, Anudeep took everyone for granted and it is an insult to the movie lovers. It is an insult to the people by promising something great experience in theatres and then serving ridiculous, rubbish and rotten dish. If the makers then lament that people are not coming to theatres though they are providing great stuff and blame OTTs, Corona, Web series etc, then people should call their bluff. Even a school-going kid can come with a better story than First Day First Show.
The directors only concentrated on highlighting Pawan Kalyan's name and pictures in every possible scene and thought that people will throng theatres and turn the film into a blockbuster and very cleverly released the film on Pawan Kalyan's birthday. They should realize that just chanting Pawan Kalyan's name and coming with nothing will not work wonders and people will not forgive them for such sins.
The lead pair Sreekanth Reddy and Sanchita Basu made their debut. They tried their best however they have miles to go before thinking of making an impact. Sanchita Basu looked good in some angles. She got limited scope to show her acting skills. Sreekanth Reddy is ok with his performance. Vamsidhar Goud also featured in a small role and he made an impact. Vennela Kishore evoked a few laughs with his performance. Tanikella Bharani got the role of hero's father and he did his role accordingly. Srinivas Reddy, CVL Narasimha Rao, Prabhas Sreenu, Mahesh Achanta, and Sai Charan Bojja just passed through the motions. Director Anudeep KV appeared in a cameo but did not make any impact. When the story lacked sense and screenplay went out of sense and direction lacked direction, one cannot blame the actors. This is because the actors are left speechless and senseless when they were asked to perform for no real incidents.
The director after failing on all fronts failed to get the optimum out of the actors. Sreekanth Reddy as a diehard fan is ok but he neither got the looks nor the expressions to carry the film on his shoulders. Other actors fared even poorly with the mindless and brainless script. Anudeep should take all the blame and responsibility for the film's disaster. He failed to use the golden opportunity after getting recognized by the top banner and producer and top stars like Chiranjeevi promoting the film. The film is also an insult to the fans of Pawan Kalyan and to the stardom of Pawan Kalyan.
The editing of Gullapalli Sambasivarao (Son) turned out to be pathetic. The scenes dragged at a snail's pace and many unwanted scenes are left unattended. Prasanth Ankireddy's cinematography is ok and the same is the case with Radhan's music and BGM. Production values are ok.

Rating Analysis
KV.Anudeep planned to take off from where he left with Jathi Ratnalu. The idea of First Day First Show is right to a point. But with a lack of star performers and extreme confidence he got with the success of Jathi Ratnalu playing the spoilsport. For all the creativity, planning to run the entire story revolving around Pawan Kalyan, he failed to look into the loopholes like missing emotions, and exciting and interesting twists and turns. People say one shouldn't look at logic while enjoying hilarious entertainers and romcoms. But when the director and writer don't use their writing and thinking capabilities and take movie lovers for granted, the question of logic, etc does not arise. Living in a fool's paradise and insulting fans or movie lovers will not be forgiven or forgotten. Considering all these aspects, CJ goes with a 0.5 rating for First Day First Show.
