The narrative takes an interesting turn when Indhu (Mrunal Thakur), a charming young woman, enters his life. The film explores the consequences of this unexpected development and how it impacts Govardhan's life and responsibilities.

Vijay Devarakonda's Family Star: Artists Review

Vijay Devarakonda delivered a commendable performance, portraying his role with a natural and realistic approach. He displayed good mannerisms and dialogue delivery, effectively using expressions to leave a lasting impression. However, some viewers might find his character reminiscent of his previous roles.

Mrunal Thakur appeared stunning on screen and initially performed well. However, her character seemed to be typecast, limiting her opportunities to showcase her full talent and elevate the scenes. Compared to her earlier appearances, some viewers might notice a slight change in her physical appearance.

Supporting actors like Jagapathi Babu, Vennela Kishore, Rohini Hattangadi, Victoria Grace, Marissa Rose Gordon, Divyansha Kaushik, and Ajay Ghosh all delivered performances that suited their respective roles, contributing effectively to the overall narrative.

Family Star Telugu Movie: Technicians Review

The storyline of Family Star, penned by Parasuram, seems to borrow heavily from previous films, offering little in terms of novelty. The portrayal of a young protagonist burdened with the responsibilities of a middle-class family is a trope seen many times before. The conflicts between the brothers and the hero-heroine seemed forced and unconvincing on screen. However, the presence of Vijay Devarakonda and Mrunal Thakur made the first half somewhat bearable.

Expectations were high for the second half to bring a fresh narrative, but it disappoints. The real estate track and the scenes of Vijay Devarakonda in the US seem to irritate viewers. Apart from a few dialogues in the beginning and during the pre-climax, the story feels thin, affecting the screenplay and direction by Parasuram.

Gopi Sunder's music fails to leave an impact. The songs lack entertainment value and fail to resonate with viewers. While his background score elevates a few scenes, overall, it is average. K.U. Mohanan's cinematography is decent but not exceptional. Marthand K. Venkatesh's editing leaves many parts of the film feeling dragged, missing the opportunity to make the narrative more engaging. However, the production values are commendable.

Family Star: Advantages

  • VD and Mrunal
  • Few Dialogues

Family Star: Disadvantages

  • Missing Emotions
  • Weak Conflict
  • Outdated Scenes

The Family Star Telugu Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Family Star falls short as a routine and outdated entertainer. Despite spirited performances from Vijay Devarakonda and Mrunal Thakur, the film fails to ignite due to Parasuram's inability to meet the high expectations set after "Geetha Govindam." The cringe-worthy narration, weak storyline, and lackluster script all contribute to the film's downfall. Taking all these factors into consideration, Cinejosh gives a 2.25 rating to Family Star.
