Ashok Galla, nephew of Super Star Mahesh Babu who made a decent debut with HERO is now coming to entertain movie lovers with his film Devaki Nandana Vasudeva. The film directed by Arjun Jandhyala is releasing on 22 November 2024. Let us findout how Ashok Galla entertained movie lovers with Devaki Nandana Vasudeva.
Devaki Nandana Vasudeva revolves around young couple and the developments laden with mythological touch akin to Kansa and Krishna.
Kansa Raju (Devdatta Nage) who wrecks fear in his village, comes to know about the shocking prophesy about his future.
How it impacts the lives of young lovebirds Krishna (Ashok Galla) and Satya (Manasa Varanasi) and how they are related to each other form rest of the narration.
Ashok Galla tried his best to entertain movie lovers with his performance. However the role he played looked more than his age and experience. He took a bold risk by attempting to do this role in his second film itself.
Manasa Varanasi looked good on the screen. Though she impressed with her looks, she has a long way to make an impression with her performance.
Devdatta Nage played the role of the antagonist in a typical manner. He got nothing much to do as the role assumed routine shades. Jhansi and Devayani came up with the decent performances in the roles of hero's mother and heroine's mother respectively.
Get Up Srinu and Satru performed well while Sridhar Reddy is good in the role of police officer.
Devaki Nandana Vasudeva story blended mythology along with the youthful, romantic and family elements. Prashanth Varma who provided the story tried to attract viewers with mythological touch to romantic elements as it is capturing the imagination of all across the country.
Director Arjun Jandhyala included commercial elements around romantic and family story. However with the protagonist turning out to be a miscast , everything fell apart. The story is predictable and right from the start till the finish it is loaded with routine elements. Not even one scene from the film excite or entertain movie lovers. All the scenes compete with eachother to give immense torture to move lovers making them run towards the exit doors.
The music of Bheems Ceciroleo is youthful and foot-tapping. The songs are short in a colourful manner. The background music is in sync with the storyline. Editing of Tammiraju is ok but could have been better as there are many repetitive scenes and routine elements which ended up testing the patience of the viewers. Prasad Murella, Rasool Ellore's cinematography showed the scenes in a visually appealing manner. Production values are good.
Altogether, Devaki Nandana Vasudeva turns out to be silly and outdated romantic commercial entertainer. Director Arjun Jandhyala tried to give a mass commercial hit. However, the heroic elements and mass elevations didn't suit Ashok Galla as he looked too young for the role. The outdated story, spineless screenplay and direction altogether submerged the film. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for Devaki Nandana Vasudeva.
