Artists, Technicians Review

Pallavi Gangireddy as the director penned an interesting story. She generated interest with thrilling elements and scenes however in her quest to increase the horror factor, she missed the connectivity factor ending up confusing viewers. While the first episode increases the curiosity levels but as the narration progressed and the story entered the third episode, interest levels decrease. Pallavi failed to highlight the relationship between Lavanya and Madhu in a more interesting manner. She leaves many unanswered questions while ending the seven episodes series showing more interest in continuing the story for the second season. With the uninteresting ending, the entire feel for the web series slides completely. The slow pace in the narration tests the patience of the viewers. The writing soon turned substandard, especially during the subplots and even the dialogues and scenes looked silly.

Nivedhithaa Satish came up with an impactful performance as a young girl. She showed different expressions and emotions as per the situation and increased curiosity. She elevated the scenes featuring the traumatic experience and the psychological problems. Regina Cassandra got a limited screen presence but performed her role to perfection. Her role comes with a surprise element. Pramodhini Pammi, Sameer Malla, the child actor Darsh, Sai Kamakshi Bhaskarla, and Lavanya and others performed accordingly.

Vijay K. Chakravathy's cinematography increased the thrill factor. His camera angles are good. Arrol Corelli's background score generated interest. Editing of Raviteja Girijala could have been better as there are drags in the proceedings. Production values are good

Rating Analysis

Pallavi Gangireddy planned to thrill viewers with a horror thriller with youthful elements in Anya's Tutorial. Thriller and Horror subjects require racy and interesting screenplay and narration. Though she starts off in an interesting manner and got good performances from Regina and Nivedhithaa, the confusing narration, screenplay, direction, and lack of thrills in important scenes and at crucial moments, turned the series into just an average one. Considering all these elements, CJ goes with a 2.25 rating for Anya's Tutorial.
