Sunrisers Hyderabad had almost lost hopes to reach playoffs after losing matches back to back in absence of star bowler Bhuvaneshwar Kumar who got injured during a match and was ruled out of IPL tourney. In the leadership of David Warner, the team came back strongly and defeated top three teams- Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and the mighty Mumbai Indians.
SRH maintained positive run rate all through the tournament. It won against RCB in the playoffs, but was defeated by DC in a game that would decide the team to play MI in the finals. Unfortunately, SRH lost many players due to injuries. Wriddiman Saha was replaced due to injury at the crucial juncture.
Thankfully, youngster Abdul Samad played well and gave some hopes in yesterday’s game. Manish Pandey also played good knocks in the series. Bowlers Natarajan and Sandeep Singh gave their best. Foreign players Williamson, Holder and few others too played well.
