Hyderabad, Aug 18 :
One woman died and 35 others were taken seriously ill after they were said to have drunk suspected illicitly brewd liquor at Rajendranagar locality on Tuesday, police said.
The critically ill have been admitted to various private and municipal hospitals in the city while the body of the woman who died has been sent for post-mortem examination to the government civil hospital. The identity of woman is yet to be ascertained. The victims all belonged to Attapur, Rajendranagar, Upparapalli and Gaganpahad Erraboda.
Senior police officials denied that there were any bootleggers inside the colony. They said only investigations would ascertain any place from where the illicit liquor was being sold.
The post-mortem report, which is still not ready, will determine the exact cause of the death. The critically ill are being treated at various hospitals of the city, police said.
