The State Government will make an announcement on problems of handloom weavers in the Assembly on Friday, said Assembly Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday.
When the House re-assembled after adjourned for 15 minutes, the Opposition parties insisted that the Speaker should give permission to take up discussion on the problems being faced by handloom weavers in the state.
However, the Speaker assured the members the government will make an announcement regarding the steps the Government proposes to implement in solving the problems of handloom weavers on Friday.
Following the Speaker’s assurance, the members relented and Kiran Kumar Reddy continued the question hour.
Earlier, the Opposition party leader N Chandrababu Naidu expressed concern over the plight of handloom weavers in the state.
