Singareni’s bid to meet production target

Khammam, Jan 15: In order to reach the production target this financial year, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited has announced attendance-based rewards to the workers. As part of the mission, the company executives have already issued the necessary orders and are educating the workers on the need to increase the production of coal. The company had fixed the target as 50.40 million tonnes this year.

However, 36.54 million tonnes have been unearthed by the workers by the end of December. The reminder of 13.86 tonnes is expected to be produced by March this year. But the thin attendance of the miners is causing a hurdle to achieve the target. And hence, in order to meet the target, the company management has introduced an attendance-based reward scheme for surface mining workers.

Within three months, workers who will attend their duties for 73 days, will get the cash reward Rs 2,000 and who will have 72 days attendance will get Rs 1,000. Workers, who will have 69 days of attendance will get Rs 750 as reward.Deputy General Manager (Personnel), Mr. Ramakrishna, has called for the cooperation of the workers to achieve the production target. “The company will provide all facilities to the workers in this regard,” he said.
