This is a new jewel in Andhra Pradesh crown. Yesterday was a special and momentous occasion for Tirupathi as India got its 19th Indian Institute of Technology operational with National level politicians along with students and parents attended the first orientation day! There is a new campus with necessary infrastructure is coming up, still the prestigious institution beginning its functioning in Temple Town is celebrated. The transit campus is housed at Krishna Teja Educational Institution.
Ever since Telangana is carved out from United Andhra Pradesh State, there is continuous demand from Andhra leaders for establishment of premier institutions like AIIMS, IIM and IIT to provide better educational opportunities in the state. Union Minister for Human Resources Development Smriti Irani and State HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao met several times on this purpose.
Whatsoever, Andhra Pradesh got its own IIT - Tirupathi. Meanwhile, Ganta assured of providing state of art IIT campus in the same location earmarked for construction at Merlapaka village. Let us see, how quick Centre would grant its funds to complete the project.
