Hyderabad,Nov 27:A speeding Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation city bus ran over four motorcyclists in Amberpet killing four persons on the spot and injuring three others on Friday.The deceased include a woman pillion rider.The condition of the three injured persons,who were admitted to the hospital,is stated to be critical.The crash occurred at 10.30 am when the driver of the bus speeding towards Uppal took a sharp turn to avoid an approaching bus and knocked down the motorcyclists from behind and ran over them.The bus was proceeding to Uppal from Mehdipatnam.
The locals who were furious over the deaths caused by rash driving smashed the windowpanes of the bus and bashed its crew.The traffic was disrupted for more than an hour inconveniencing the office-goers.According to sources,Srinivas and his wife after performing a pooja at the Santoshima temple were going back on their bike when the speeding bus ran over them.Srinvas’ wife died on the spot while Srinivas’condition is stated to be critical at the hospital.The roads in Hyderabad have turned into veritable death-traps as more and more accidents are occurring now than ever before despite elaborate traffic regulations.Local MLA Kishen Reddy who visited the spot said that he contacted the RTC officials and was making arrangements for payment of ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased.
