Ongole , Nov 19: With North-East monsoons being active in Prakasham district the rivulets and tanks are overflowing posing a threat to the people living in the nearby villages. Due to heavy rains the Upputeru Vagu in Prakasham district is in spate. As a precautionary measure the people living in the nearby villages have been alerted and were asked to get ready to leave their homes for safer places in case of emergency.On Thursday, the road transport in this area was badly hit by the floods.
The Andhra Pradesh Sstate Road Transport Corporation has stopped all buses plying between Kandukuru and Gudluru as a precautionary measure.Similarly Manneru Vagu is also nearing the danger mark with heavy inflow of water from surrounding areas. As a result the road transport between Atmakuru and Ulavapadu has been disrupted.In the Rallapadu project of Gundlakamma the crest gates have been raised as the flood waters reached the danger mark.
