Tirupati, Nov 14: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Chairman D K Adikesavulu Naidu on Saturday said the TTD would organise Sri Srinivasa Kalyanam throughout the country. The TTD Board of trustees which met under the Chairmanship of D K Adikesavulu has also decided to approve of the draft guidelines prepared by the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP) for conducting `Srinivasa Kalyanam’ in the other States. The Board has decided to execute the programme through HDPP only, he added. The chairman said those keen on participating in the Srinivasa Kalyanam should obtain prior HDPP permission after fulfilling all the norms.
This would help curb malpractices being committed by the local groups in the name of Srinivasa Kalyanam, he pointed out.The decision was taken following criticism in some quarters that some TTD staff were taking the idols of Lord and his two consorts out to perform the Kalyanam for pecuniary benefits, he stated. The Board has also decided to construct a state-of-the-art Kalyana Vedika for the benefit of devotees at Tirumala, who want to perform marriages free of cost.
The Kalyana Vedika would also be used for Kalynamasthu programmes.Similarly, free Thali Bottu and others will also be extended to the marriages performed in Tirumala,The Board has instructed TTD officials to celebrate Vaikunta Ekadasi in a big way giving no room for any criticism. Physically challenged, the aged and mothers with infants would not be allowed on Vaikunta Ekadasi day.Seegra darshan tickets would also be issued only in the afternoon on that day.
