Vijayawada, Nov 12 : Aiming to earn a profit of Rs 50 lakh on Sabaramala pilgrims alone this year the Krishna region of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will ply Supe Luxury and Delux buses to Sabarmila for the benefit Ayyappa pilgrims.Addressing the media on Thursday, Regional Manager of Krishna district A Koteswara Rao said that the APSRTC would operate about hundred trips starting from November 14 to January 15 next year.
During these two months 20 super Luxury buses and 10 Delux buses will pressed into service .Referring to the rules of plying the APSRTC buses in other states he explained the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and the APSRTC had entered into an agreement for taking the APSRTC buses up to the bus station near river Pamba and from there the pilgrims would reach Ayyappa temple on foot.Regarding the price he said the fare per adult has been fixed at Rs 2500 while for a child it will be Rs 1900.
The journey to Pamba from Vijayawada is for five days and will touch places like Srirangam, Madurai, Kurtalam and Yarramali.APSRTC have come up with a special offer to Ayyappa Pilgrims. Pilgrims who will be booking 10 tickets at a time will be given one free ticket.According to Koteswara Rao the APSRTC apart from plying buses will also provide luxury and deluxe buses on hire to the pilgrims.
