Rs 12 lakh stolen from car in Khammam

Khammam, July 27 (TNN): Thieves made good with Rs 12 lakh from a parked car even as the owner was in his seat during daytime on Monday at Khammam.
According to the police, Rangaiah, who hails from Katragadda in Khammam district, came to Vyra Road branch of Axis bank in car to withdraw cash. After parking the car he went inside the bank to withdraw cash. Later, he kept his suit case in the car and talking in a mobile.
 
Noticing the moments of Rangaiah, few unidentified thieves struck the car and decamped with suit case.
“The thieves probably took away the cash by inserting a hand through the left window glass which was kept open,” Inspector said.
In another incident that took place in Warangal, thieves made away with gold ornaments of Kanaka Durga temple. The thieves stole cash and jewellery from the temple by breaking the door on Monday. The value of jewellery was yet to be ascertained. Warangal police have registered a case.
