Khammam,Nov.9: The Sigareni Collieries Company Limited has launched a week-long campaign in the district to propagate the quality of coal and the need for its right exploration.The Singareni Collieries management has launched a week-long celebrations in Kothagudem, Ellandu and Manuguru to educate the workers on exploration of quality coal. As part of it, the higher-ups are administering pledges by the workers during the programs. These celebrations will continue till November 11 (Wednesday).Speaking on the occasion,Chief General Manager of Singarani,Mr.Suresh, appealed to the officers and workers to explore quality coal.“If quality coal is unearthed by us,the company will grow in the future,”he added.
Kothagudem area has secured the first place in October last, Suresh said and congratulated the officers and workers in the area for the record production.He announced that works of Jalagam Vengala Rao open cast mines would start next year at Sattupalli.“It would be the biggest mine in the Singareni region and the mine that existed in over 3,500 acres have 50 years of life time,”he said.“Annual production of the mine was decided at about 40 lakh tons,” he said. Suresh said priority would be accorded to locals in the recruitments to the company.“Welfare schemes would be taken to the workers and we already allotted Rs 1 crore for it this year,”he said.Suresh also declared with pride that the Company was ready to supply coal to the Genco, provided the power plant was established by them at Sattupally.
