Hyderabad,Oct 30: In order to maintain peace, law and order in the coming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner Prasada Rao has passed an order directing all the arms license holders in the city to deposit their weapons in the nearby police station.The Commissioner has convened a review meeting with officials concerned in the wake of GHMC elections to be held on November 23.
He directed the arms license holders to deposit their arms in nearby police station or with an authorized license dealer before November 4.He warned of taking action against those who violate the order. However, this order will not be applicable to those who are working as security guards in public and private sector banks.The orders, which were implemented on Friday, will be enforce till the completion of election process, the police commissioner said.
