The Backward Classes Welfare Association president Mr. R Krishnaiah on Friday threatened to launch a nation wide agitation to fight for provision of constitutional rights to the BCs in the country.
Addressing newsmen here, Krishnaiah said the BCs will hold a huge rally in front of the Parliament on July 29. This will be followed by a meeting with the MPs on July 30. On the following day that is on July 31 they will stage rallies in front of ministers houses to press for their demands.
The president said that there are about 65 crores of BCs in the country and the Government is standing in the way of their progress by not making the right provisions for them in the constitution.
He also sought a constitutional amendment creating a separate ministry for the welfare of the BCs.
