Make Kalyanamasthu a grand success: CM

Hyderabad,Oct 16: The Chief Minister, K Rosaiah, on Friday directed the District Collectors to take steps to make the `Kalyanamasthu’ programme, to be conducted under the joint auspices of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) and State Government on October 28, a grand success in all districts.During a video-conference with the District Collectors, the Chief Minister directed them to conduct a district-level awareness meeting in the first phase and constituency-level review of arrangements in the second phase.He asked the Collectors to identify a suitable venue to accommodate 1,000 persons, arrange public address system, invite bhajan and cultural troupes to spread awareness, make use of the publicity material in prominent places and also on RTC buses.

Special ‘Kalyana rathams’ would tour the districts extensively to popularise the theme, while marriage applications would be made available in all villages.He also directed them to supervise the rescue and relief operations taken up by officials in flood affected districts.He asked them to conduct enumeration drive in flood-hit areas to estimate the losses suffered by farmers and families and take steps in disbursing compensation amount and ration items properly to the victims.He warned the officials of stringent action for any lapses in the distribution of ration items and compensation amount to the flood victims.He asked the collectors to convene a meeting with bankers associations for sanctioning loans to traders to revive their business activities.

He directed the Agriculture officials to estimate the damage to the crops occurred due to floods and provide necessary help for farmers to take up sowing operations in Rabi season. The government would provide subsidized seeds and fertilizers for farmers to take up farm operations, he explained.He told the collectors to utilize the services of non-governmental organizations and voluntary bodies in the rehabilitations works in flood hit areas.The meeting was attended by Ministers, Chief secretary Ramakanth Reddy and other officials of concerned departments.
