Khammam, Sept 26:
The Maoists suffered another blow on Saturday with the surrendering of one more hardcore naxalite before the police in Khammam district along with his arms and ammunition.
The maoist, surrendered before police at Gundala station, was identified as Tati Krishna alias Krishnanna. He belonged to Praja Prathighatana Group, a naxal frontal organization. The surrendered was involved in several cases of murder, attempted murder, arson and extortion. Krishnanna was surrendered before the police due to ill health and disillusionment with the extremist ideology.
Talking to media persons, Superintendent of Police Mahesh M. Bhagwat said that the officials were hopeful that these surrenders would lead to major revelations about the Maoist activities in Orissa and Chhattisgarh as they were involved in some major naxal violence in the past. On the occasion, the SP appealed to the underground cadres to shun violence and join the main stream of the society for a peaceful life.
