The sub-inspector, Sunil Kumar, attached to the Kukatpalli police station in Hyderabad city, was taken into custody for alleged molestation of a minor girl.
A 16-year-old girl has filed a complaint with the Malkajgiri police in the city on Sunday that the sub-inspector has cheated her in the name of love. She accused him of pretending to be in love with her to exploit her.
On her complaint, the Malkajgiri police registered a case under Section 376 Indian Penal Code (IPC) and arrested him on Tuesday. The girl was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital for DNA tests. “We will take the follow-up action after receiving the DNA test report,” the police said.
However, the relatives of the giel talking to media persons here, suspected the possibility of manipulating the DNA report.
