Nuclear Emergency declared in Japan

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) officially declared Nuclear Emergency in Japan following the meltdown of Nuclear Reactor 2 at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Japan PM declared this as the worst crisis ever in the history of Japan after the World War II. The 8.9 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Japan has apparently knocked out the main source of electrical power to entire country.

IAEA warned the similar melt down even at 1 and 3 nuclear plants given the lack of facilities to cool the Uranium rods and radioactive emissions levels already crossed the permissible levels. Japan Government started evacuating the people in radius of 20 Kms but already radioactive emissions are doing the damage while Govt. expressed its inability to know anything about what is happening in Fukushima due to lack of power and TV telecast.

In addition to the tsunami and current nuclear alarm, the Shinmoedake volcano in Japan has erupted after two weeks of dormancy. The 1,421 meter high volcano reawakened after 52 years throwing lava into near by areas. Seismologists claim this is a warning with 70% chance of yet another quake of magnitude 7 or higher to hit Japan. In addition IAEA has reported that there is now a state of emergency even at Onogawa nuclear power plant, where excessively high levels of radiation have been found.  So, Japan is reeling under nuclear, economic, volcano emergencies.
