Hyderabad, Sept 19 :
It’s good news for the owners of Compressed Natural Gas vehicles in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The twin cities will soon have 10 CNG filling units from December. This proposal was forwarded by chief secretary Ramakanth Reddy who heads the Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (UMTA) .
The members of UMTA who met here on Saturday to discuss the traffic situation in Hyderabad decided to enforce one-way traffic at Lakdi-ka-pul junction on an experimental basis. This decision was taken to ease the traffic in this busy route.
According to the new route the vehicles moving from Khairatabad to Mehdipatnam will have to take a U-turn via AG’s office, Telephone Bhavan, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Ravindra Bharathi.
This rule will be in force for two days on an experimental basis. Final decisions will be taken later. Bus stops for private buses at Lakdi-ka-pul and Dwaraka Hotel will be shifted to Mint Compound.
