Coast Guard units are vital to safe guard the coast of the country. They are involved in multifarious functions like anti piracy, assisting the mariners and fishermen in times of trouble, protecting marine environment etc.
In view of the trade on sea, the potential resources in the sea which are essential for the growth of the economy in the country, the Government in course of time will be setting up two more Coast Guard Stations in the State. The two Coast Guards will be at Nizampatnam and the other at Krishnapatnam. This news was disclosed by Pallam Raju Union Minister of State for Defence on Friday after commissioning a 40-metre dedicated berth for the Coast Guard at the Kakinada port.
The coastal security will be provided with latest systems like the static radar sensors, operational platforms to function effectively and efficiently, the minister further added.
