City police managed to rescue a 12-year-old boy from the clutches of his four kidnappers within 24 hours and nabbed the offenders at Owaisi Hills, Mustafa Nagar under Cyberabad Commissionerate on Saturday.
Briefing media persons over the case, Hyderabad Police Commissioner AK Khan revealed that Toufeeq Ahmed, Sher Mohammed, Mohammed Omer and Mirza Omer Baig had kidnapped Mohammed Shakir from his residence at Madannapet and demanded Rs 5 lakh from his father, Mohammed Abed. They warned Abed that his son would be killed if he did not pay the ransom amount.
Abed immediately lodged a complaint ( Cr No 168/2010) with the police on Friday.
A case, under sections 364-A read with 34 IPC was registered and the Task Force personnel swung into action.
Working out the clues available, the sleuths raided the room of Omer Baig at Owaisi Hills and managed to rescue the boy unharmed.
On interrogation, it was revealed that Toufeeq Ahmed had convinced the other three accused that Abed had properties worth around Rs two crore in Haryana. He also convinced his accomplices that it would be easy money if they successfully carry out the kidnap.
