The city police, which had been put on high alert due to the Ganesh Visarjan procession and the Allahabad High Court’s scheduled verdict on the Babri Masjid title suit, has got some relief after the Supreme Court ordered the deferment of the verdict.
Talking to INN, senior police officials said that the security personnel drafted in to the city from the various districts, will now be sent back to their respective stations.
Over 30,000 policemen were deployed in the city due to the Ganesh immersion procession and the security net was to remain on standby till after the verdict of the Babri Masjid title suit.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner had also said that the military was asked to standby, along with the anti-terror force Octopus.
With the expected date of the verdict being postponed, the additional security personnel have been pulled out from the city.
