Central Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Akun Sabharwal on Saturday said that former Member of Parliament Ram Vilas Vedanthi will be the Chief Guest at the Ganesh Visarjan and chances that Amritsar Member of Parliament Navjoth Singh Sidhu and RSS Prachar Pramuk Manmohan Vaidya would also take part.
Dr Sabharwal said that in view of the visits, tight security will be provided to prevent any untoward incident in the City.
Dr Sabharwal said that in addition to the 13 DSPs, 18 Inspectors, 56 Sub-Inspectors, 92 Sub-Inspector (trainees) and approximately 1,200 personnel will be deployed at Tank Bund and NTR route from September 18 to 23.
He added that approximately ten to twelve thousand idols of various sizes are expected to be immersed in Hussain Sagar Lake during the Ganesh Utsav for which19 cranes on Tank bund and 10 cranes on NTR Marg were set for which works will be held in two shifts.
The officials will also deploy a Mobile Control Centre vehicle, which contains the facilities of Public Address System, Television and Internet connectivity and also room to hold a mini conference accommodating 10 officers at the Tank Bund.
Dr Sabharwal said that motorcycle-borne cameramen will be used to relay live pictures to Mobile Control Centre which ensures better supervision and deployment of force, using remote controlled cameras at height of 20 - 30 meters using fire department crane “BRONTO”.
The DCP said that a format has been designed and record sheets printed for each crane which will give data of number, date and specific time of immersion of idols being performed by each crane, which will assist in planning minute Law and Order arrangements for Ganesh Visarjan in the coming years.
He added once it is known what time and on which date the immersion is higher, planning for manpower deployment can be done in a better manner.
