The costliest Project from Indian Cinema initially titled as Project K starring Prabhas is finally Titled as 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Just days after the grand teaser launch of the film at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), rumours are rife that the makers have decided to postpone the film's release.
Though makers annouced that the film will release on Jan 12, 2024. Many speculated that it will not be possible as by that time Prabhas was occupied with Adipurush and Salaar So, trade is prepared for the postponement right from the release date announcement.
As per speculations, reports suggest that the film's release may now be pushed to May 9, 2024. Reports state that Ashwini Dutt, producer of the film, is pushing for a May 9 release as the date has some special significance for him. The previous films that he backed were also released on the same date and turned out to be blockbusters.
Films in the past from the banner, Jagadekaveerudu Athiloka Sundari starring Chiranjeevi and Sridevi was released on May 9 and became Industry Hit then Mahanati starring Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan got released on May 9 and became a landmark film, Maharshi starring Mahesh also became Superhit. The film's VFX part is also pending so, considering all these, makers rounded off the release date of Kalki is 9th May, 2024.
