It seems Pawan Kalyan is facing the heat of his actions for the first time. He is completely in defense mode after his harsh and loose comments about Volunteers. He came to know that it can't be that easy to get away by passing baseless comments against a system like escaping after mudslinging on an individual. He is facing severe heat for his comments from volunteers and their families. Not only them, but even people are also questioning his intentions behind making such nasty comments.
Volunteer systems possess more than two and a half lakh people working for the betterment and getting the government's welfare schemes to the doorsteps of old and those who can't get their benefits going to government offices. Calling Volunteers 'human traffickers', Pawan Kalyan has completely lost whatever credibility he has among the people. He has paid a hefty price for his rude allegations. On the other side, with his comments, Pawan made an enemy out of 10 lakh people, Volunteers, and their Families together. They are protesting against Pawan Kalyan's comments against them and even conducted rallies, and burned Pawan effigies. Some of them even filed a case against Pawan Kalyan.
Calling Volunteers as anti-social elements, Pawan Kalyan has put himself in a huge problem. Calling leaders and CM, names is one thing. People also see that to some extent as a political rivalry. But, common people who are working as volunteers and helping the needy directly as a part of their job effectively don't have any part in these political fights. People are feeling that Pawan has unnecessarily dragged volunteers and called them names. This stepping overboard during speeches and irresponsible attitude came back to bite him.
During life-and-death situations like COVID, and floods, Volunteers came forward and performed their duties to those who are in need. They are the very few people who stepped out of their homes to do their duties during the deadly COVID period. They even performed last rites to people who died due to COVID when their family members were unable to come forward. During the Godavari floods, Volunteers went to people who were stuck in the floods and handed over groceries, and medicines. It is due to the volunteer system, old people and pregnant women need not go to nearby offices to collect pensions and other schemes. Volunteers are very helpful to them and even they are distributing groceries to home itself. People have understood the importance of the Volunteer system and are effectively utilizing it whenever they need any assistance regarding government schemes and clarifications. Pawan Kalyan by targeting such Volunteers upon whom people have a soft corner lost confidence among his people.
Knowing his mistake, Pawan Kalyan has started damage control. He tried to dilute the issue by saying that he doesn't mean the entire Volunteer system but he mentioned some who are misusing their power and bringing shame to all volunteers. Pawan Kalyan who is now touring in Godavari districts has his caste people working as volunteers. Don't their sentiments hurt with words? This shows his political illiteracy and exposed his knowledge about what happening on the ground reality. Pawan Kalyan with such immature comments has put his own Janasena party members in confusion about what he has learned from his past mistakes from the past 15 years and how they can follow him with such an attitude and mindset that is against a system that is helpful for the people and have support from them. Do people develop confidence in so-called leaders who criticize the system which is helping them?
