The other day Tollywood woke up to a huge shock when IT officials conducted raids on top production house Mythri Movie Makers. IT officials conducted searches in the houses of the producers and also the offices of the Mythri and also in director cum producer Sukumar for four days and only yesterday, the searches were completed.
IT conducted raids after reports came out that these production houses received funding from the MLAs and other politicians in an illegal manner. It was alleged that they got funds from overseas twice within a span of four months against the rules. They even probed into the alleged money laundering by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings by diverting the funds.
The production houses and the promoters however claimed that these raids were routine and their accounts are clean. However, it seems tension is still prevailing in Tollywood and Tollywood is spending sleepless nights. Reports are coming that IT officials now shifted their radar to the top stars who are doing projects under these banners.
Mythri is bankrolling Allu Arjun's Pushpa The Rule, Pawan Kalyan's Ustad Bhagat Singh, NTR-Prashant Neel project, and Ram Charan-Buchchi Babu Sana project. Mythri recently scored hits with Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy. Sukumar recently scored a hit with Sai Tej's Virupaksha.
The question is, will IT officials probe all these actors and try to find out how they are paid such whopping amounts as remuneration etc. This is sending tense signals to movie lovers and fans.
