Remakes vs Dubbing War

Remakes losing out to Dubbing films

Filmmakers often prefer to entertain viewers either by dubbing films or remaking the hits in other languages. For a long movie, lovers have been treated to remakes and dubbing films on the big screen. Remakes and Dubbing films used to do well and have neck and neck competition. But of late, everything is getting changed in the current circumstances.

In Tollywood, remakes are losing out to dubbing films. While dubbing films like Kicha Sudeep's Vikrant Rona, Yash's KGF, Rakshit Shetty's Kantara, and Pradeep Ranganathan's Love Today made big bucks at the box office drawing movie lovers to the theatres, remakes turned out to be disasters.

Rajasekhar's Shekar, the remake of the Malayalam film Joseph, Anikha Surendran's Butta Bomma, a remake of the Malayalam film Kappela, Sudheer Babu's Hunt, a remake of the Malayalam film Mumbai Police, Allu Sirish's Urvasivo Rakshasivo, a remake of Tamil film  Pyaar Prema Kaadhal and even Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Godfather, a remake of Malayalam hit Lucifer failed to set screens on fire at the box office.

As movie lovers are used to watching the originals in the OTTs, they are not keen to watch the remakes on the big screen. Better the makers stop burning their hands by doing remakes.
