Super Star Krishna's demise brought an end to one generation of Tollywood. It is known that Super Star Krishna is the first fan who entered films and became a top star. Krishna is a diehard fan of Legend NTR. Many always are under the misconception that NTR and Krishna are poles apart. However they had an inexplicable relationship and bonding and though they are poles apart, they are friends forever. Though they used to have differences of opinion they used to share an even stronger bonding.
Krishna became a fan of NTR after watching his film Patala Bhairavi. Though Krishna used to see other heroes films, he started worshiping NTR. When Krishna first went to Madras to realize his dreams, he met his idol NTR. NTR was doing Seeta Rama Kalyanam at that time. NTR introduced Krishna to Chakrapani one of the owners of Vijaya Studios. NTR advised Krishna that he was just 19 years and asked him to meet him after doing a few dramas and stage performances.
Krishna after becoming an actor, shared screen presence with NTR for the first time in his career in Stree Janma. As Krishna played the role of NTR's brother, from then on he started calling NTR as 'Annagaru'. NTR who liked Krishna's ways recommended him for his brother's role in Niluvu Dopidi.
When Krishna did Mosagallaku Mosagadu, almost all those who watched the preview and premiers predicted that the film would be a disaster. However, NTR was the only one who after watching the film told Krishna that it would be a super hit. NTR's predictions turned out to be true. NTR then graced the success meet of Krishna's Pandanti Kapuram. During that time when Krishna expressed his desire to star in NTR's film once again, NTR at once cast him in his film Devudu Chesina Manushulu.
At that time Krishna announced the Alluri Sita Rama Raju project. NTR got angry that Krishna announced the project though he had been planning it and an entire industry was aware of it. NTR thus stayed away from Devudu Chesina Manushulu's success meet. Their war continued at the box office during Krishna's Kurukshetram and NTR's Dana Veera Soora Karna. While ANR sided with NTR, Sobhan Babu, and Krishnam Raju supported Krishna.
The industry got split vertically and all were forced to support one or the other side. This continued for six months before NTR gained the upper hand. This resulted in no love lost between NTR and Krishna and both stopped talking or seeing eye to eye with each other. However, all the clouds of misunderstandings cleared and NTR himself showered praises on Krishna for Alluri Seeta Rama Raju and remarked that even he wouldn't have done justice to the role and shelved his plans to do Alluri Seeta Rama Raju.
They went on to star in Vayyari Bhamalu Vagalamari Bhartalu. When NTR entered politics, Krishna supported him. With NTR entering politics, all the producers who used to do films with NTR turned to Krishna. Krishna became even busier. At that time, the Congress party looking for a strong opponent to take on NTR felt that Krishna who has a mass following would be ideal and pressurized him to join politics.
Krishna forcibly and unwillingly entered politics as he was close to Rajiv Gandhi. On the orders of the then PM Rajiv Gandhi did films against NTR. But after the demise of Rajiv Gandhi, Krishna stayed away from politics and he even invited NTR, and ANR for the launch of his 300th film Telugu Veera Levara. NTR and ANR attended and this proved once again that NTR and Krishna share a strong bonding that is above all. Aptly Krishna was conferred with the NTR award.
