Internet was abuzz with the news of Prabhas's pan India Film Adipurush getting postponed from January 12, 2023. Though there is no official confirmation regarding this, But with their silence the team is indirectly supporting this news. However an official statement regarding this news is expected this week. It is also being heard that makers are trying to release the film in April.
The reason for its postponement is said to be VFX. The teaser which was released amidst much fanfare in Ayodhya received lucrative response from the audience. It's has been trolled by many for its poor VFX and even called it cartoonish. Adipurush also received backlash for the look and costumes of Hindu deities. Director Om Raut responded that it's disheartening to see the response but he is not surprised. He said that Adipurush is a film which needs to be seen on large screen not on mobile phones environment.
News is the team has reconsidered and found that there is a lot of room for the improvement of VFX. For this reason they have allotted an additional Rs 100 Crores for VFX department. Reports are saying this is the reason for pushing the film's release from January. Prabhas is played as lord Ram, Saif Ali Khan as Ravan and Kriti Sanon as Sita in this adaptation of Ramayan.
