Generally, film actors maintain cordial relations with politicians so that their films and businesses will not get affected. They stay away from controversies and concentrate only on their career and do not bother to react to the happenings in the social and political developments in the state and the country.
Under these circumstances, actress Poonam Kaur dared the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ministers with her questions during the South First’s Dakshin Dialogues 2022 Conclave. First, when AP Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath was interacting, Poonam Kaur took up the special status to Andhra Pradesh. Poonam Kaur pointed out that AP was not accorded special status due to political differences for which the minister replied that special status should have been accorded at the time of bifurcation and now it is near impossible.
Poonam Kaur then dared Telananga Minister for Municipal Admin & Urban Dev, Industry & Commerce, ITE&C, and KTR about the state government's hypocrisy over using the Central government's funds and claiming that they did not get any assistance from the Union government. KTR replied back that the Union government is punishing performing states.
