RGV posted a series of tweets slamming the YCP government for lowering the ticket prices. He called it the direct violation of Article 14 from the constitution. His tweets are as follows.
Maharashtra state allowing @ssrajamouli ‘s RRR ticket price to sell at Rs 2200/- and his home state AP not even allowing to sell at Rs 200/- raises an existential question “WHO KILLED KATTAPPA? “

My understanding after my meeting with @Perni_nani garu is that the AP ticket pricing controversy boils down to just these issues as explained in the below tweets
Is the AP government putting a restriction on the sale price of any other privately manufactured product apart from films ? If so we would like to know the products names and their reasons for doing so
How can a Rs 500 cr RRR film and a film costing just Rs 1 cr be forced to sell at the same ticket price ?
Can the government’s argument that they are not bothered with the cost of the film when deciding the price be applicable to any product made anywhere in the whole world ?
The only way pricing can get lower will be due to fierce competition among the manufacturers to give better and better quality at a lesser and lesser price to the consumer and not because of external forces
Government forcing the manufacturers to sell at lower prices will result only in them stopping production or making low quality products
In another state tickets being sold for even Rs 2200 and in AP state if even Rs 200 isn’t allowed , isn’t it in direct violation of article 14 which prohibits discrimination?
What possible harm can happen if there’s any number of shows put in a day or a night,when Maharashtra already was allowing shows to run 24/7 before the covid crisis came ?
Based on consumers time availability and their work shifts why should the Cine goers be robbed of the opportunity to see the film even after midnight or any other time convenient to them?
If benifit shows are put and priced high and people willingly buy won’t the government also be making more money ?
Why should the government have a problem in , why the producer is paying how much to a star, unless it has a prior knowledge of some criminal intimidation or extortion by the film stars trying to extract money from the producer ?
With regard to why a @ Pawankalyan or any other star should be paid so much , If we break an I phone and calculate the actual cost of the material used ,it might not even be rs 1000 but it’s sold for almost 2 lakhs because of the idea , the brand and market demand
The cinematography act 1955 to be suddenly dug out by AP govt after 70 years and randomly implemented is unacceptable and it is necessary that the act itself should be challenged in court
In an extreme covid situation there was a reason for the disaster management act to be brought out but what extreme reason is for this cinematography act to be applied now ?

Imposing limitations to the extent of curtailing the Fundamental Rights guaranteed under article 19(1)a of the Constitution without due process would tantamount to a mis exercise of authority.
Since exhibition of a film falls within the realm of freedom of expression,any decision taken by the dispensation in power to curtail such a right would strike at the root of the tenet which is a flagrant infringement of a law in operation
What the government is not supposed to do directly, it is doing indirectly by applying a excessive exercise of authority by compelling tickets to be sold at lower rates
Forced lowering of ticket prices will eventually lead to only two outcomes..
Either theatre exhibition system will collapse or the entire system will start running in black which will be bad both for film industry and government
If the government is really concerned about people who can’t afford the essential commodity price of a film, low priced tickets can be offered as part welfare schemes and part government charity
China bigger than our population and US much lower than ours ,have nearly 10 times more cinema theatres and our governments should strive for our exhibition sector to reach those numbers
