Publicity Stunt: PIL against RRR

PIL against RRR release

Rajamouli's RRR is the most awaited project across the country. The film starring Ram Charan and NTR which was supposed to release in an extravagant manner on January 7, 2022 got postponed indefinitely in the aftermath of the outbreak of omicron cases in the country.

In the midst of all this, a PIL has been filed against RRR release. It is coming out that a woman by name Alluri Soumya hailing from Satyavarapu Undrajavaram, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh filed a PIL against RRR release in Telangana High Court alleging that Rajamouli distorted the stories of freedom fighters Alluri Sita Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem to insult them intentionally.

She demanded that RRR shouldn't be released and a censor certificate shouldn't be given. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Venkateswara Reddy decided to take the case for a hearing. It is a known fact that Rajamouli many times went on record that RRR is not a biopic or a patriotic entertainer but is a fictitious story based on the lives of Alluri Seetha Rama Raju and Komaram Bheem. It seems the PIL is just a mere publicity stunt to gain media attention.
