Icon Star Allu Arjun's action entertainer Pushpa-The Rise directed by Sukumar which hit the screen on December 17 turned out to be the biggest grosser in India in 2021. The film grossed around Rs 300crs and its Hindi version is still going strong. In the midst of all this, speculation increased over the film's OTT streaming.
Top OTT giant Amazon Prime bagged the film's OTT streaming rights and planned to stream the film from January 7, 2022. However, with the film's Hindi version doing well at the box office, the makers decided to renegotiate the deal and convince the OTT giant to defer the film's OTT streaming.
Finally, they seem to have emerged successful in convincing Amazon Prime. Pushpa-The Rise will be streamed on January 7 from 8 PM onwards in all languages except in Hindi. Amazon Prime confirmed the same by sharing 'He’ll fight. He’ll run. He’ll jump. But he won’t succumb! Watch #PushpaOnPrime, Jan. 7 In Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada'
While movie lovers are happy as they can watch the film on OTT, fans are unhappy as they felt that the film could have continued its run in theatres in various languages. The film featured Rashmika Mandanna as the heroine and Samantha in a special song. The film starred Anasuya, Fahad Faasil, Sunil, Dhananjay, Jagadeesh, Rao Ramesh in important roles. Music is scored by Devi Sri Prasad.
