Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo was released for Sankranthi, 2020 and stood as an industry hit (non BB) at the box office with a mammoth Rs.165 crore worldwide share. Being the protagonist of the industry hit film, Allu Arjun became the 'Hero of the Year' for 2020.
Allu Arjun's latest offing Pushpa hit the screens on December 17 at the Pan India level and accumulated big numbers at the ticket window. This film is now inching towards Rs.150 crores. Particularly, the film's dubbed versions such as Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil versions minted humongous collections keeping Allu Arjun as the Pan Indian Star. The film's collections in Telangana and the US were also satisfying. All in all, Pushpa stood as the biggest grosser of the year which made Allu Arjun the 'Hero of the Year' for 2021 as well.
As of now, Allu Arjun has become the hero of the year five times in his career. In the year 2007, he shared the 'Hero of the Year' (for Deshamuduru) status along with Young Tiger NTR.(Yamadonga). Since 'Race Gurram' stood as the biggest grosser in 2014, Allu Arjun got 'Hero of the Year' status for the second time.
